4 MLB teams with the best fan culture and loyalty

Baseball is an integral part of Chicago life. With the White Sox and the Cubs representing the city, there is no lack of anticipation and action in terms of baseball. The MLB is watched by more than 80% of Chicago residents.

Something striking about Americans in general is that they love to compare teams. And by compare, we mean compare on the basis of logic and statistics. Teams are ranked on basis of offence, defense, titles won, consistency and many other variables.

We thought we would come up with our own list of MLB teams in 2017, in terms of factors that are outside the statistical evaluation of performance. These ranking are based on brand strength, fan culture and likeability in general.

Kansas City Royals

The 2016 MLB world series winners are our favorite as far as this list is concerned. The victory parade at the aftermath of the win was amazing and fabulous to watch. If you are a neutral, you would want to support a team where you wouldn’t see a bunch of spoilt, overpaid sports stars. The royals are only a mere 14th in the league in terms of payroll budget, but the best in terms of commitment and dedication.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates have been the favorite of neutrals for many years until now. Their fans are ever so committed and passionate about their team despite the fact that they were swimming at the bottom for many long, painful years.

New York Mets

The Mets are perhaps the most famous team outside the United States. Even many non-baseball fans have heard of the Mets. Despite the team being inconsistent on the field, they have managed to maintain their fan loyalty over the decades.

Boston Red Sox

In terms of away stadium attendance, the Red Sox are right up there at the top. Although their home stadium is smaller than average to accommodate all their fans, one can almost envy the Red Sox for their fan loyalty. Their anthem, Sweet Caroline, is also pleasing to hear.
